Director of Business Development, Kalamuna

Chad Capellman is a digital advisor and member of WBC’s In the Arena Steering Committee who bridges the gap between technology, strategy, and execution. Currently serving as Director of Business Development for Kalamuna, a mission-driven full-service creative digital agency, Chad helps CEOs, CMOs, CTOs and other executives overcome technology deficiencies to create strategic solutions for content management, integrated data, e-commerce and custom digital tools.

Chad has strategized and delivered impactful digital solutions for key public, commercial, healthcare and educational institutions, including Boston Children’s Hospital, U.S. Figure Skating, Massachusetts General Hospital, the Chronicle of Higher Education, the Trust for the National Mall, U.S. Figure Skating, DC Water, Loudoun Water, the World Bank, and multiple associations. His expertise spans healthcare, finance, non-profit and consumer packaged goods clients, where he has managed award-winning websites and digital initiatives.

Chad’s media background includes work for The Washington Post, CBS Sportsline, the Associated Press, MediaPost, ESPN.com and other publications. He has also served as the “digital glue” behind the scenes of the WeMedia series of conferences focusing on the intersection of media, society and technology. As a recovering sportswriter and co-founder of the Baseball Industry Network group on LinkedIn with more than 47,000 members, Chad brings a storyteller’s perspective to digital strategy.

Chad holds a BA in English from the University of Maryland and is Shipley Certified. He serves as a digital advisor to groups promoting equity, fairness, and win-win opportunity creation, aligning his technical expertise with meaningful social impact. He’s also a huge tennis fan, and recalled for WBC the time he went from a ball boy to a credentialed reporter in the same week, and reflected on the importance of giving an opportunity to others when we can.
