DESCRIPTION:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdwfZEN23Vc\nThe presentation of the third 2024 Trailblazer in Gender Equity and Diversity Award to Lucy Sanders\, Founder and Executive in Residence of the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) was held Monday\, August 19\, 2024\, in Boulder\, Colorado. Women Business Collaborative honored her trailblazing efforts in gender equity and diversity and her leadership for global good. \nLucy Sanders is Founder and Executive in Residence of the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT)\, a national organization that works to broaden participation in computing.  She has an extensive industry background\, having worked in R&D and executive (VP) positions at AT&T Bell Labs\, Lucent Bell Labs\, and Avaya Labs for over 20 years\, where she specialized in systems-level software and solutions (multimedia communication\, and customer relationship management).  \nIn 1996\, Lucy was awarded the Bell Labs Fellow Award\, the highest technical accomplishment bestowed at the company\, and she has six patents in the communications technology area. Lucy serves as a Trustee on several organizational boards\, including the Colorado School of Mines and the International Computer Science Institute at the University of California\, Berkeley. She was a member of Governor Polis’ COVID response team in 2020\, and currently is the workforce lead for the State’s submission to the U.S. Department of Commerce to designate Colorado a Quantum Technology Innovation Hub.
