Anjali Varma

Anjali is our Senior Director of Champion Relations and leads the WBC’s Advisory Council. She is responsible for managing council relationships and building and growing the council itself. Prior to joining WBC, Anjali was a women’s leadership advocate who consulted with organizations and individual leaders on gender equity and women’s leadership strategies. She is an adjunct professor at the American University Kogod School of Business, where she created and teaches the award-winning course Women In Organization Leadership. She co-founded EmpowHERed, is a firm that offers corporate training workshops, programming, events, and coaching to support, develop, and elevate women leaders in the workplace.

Anjali also owned and operated a small business, Kidville, for 10 years before selling in January 2020. Throughout that time, she also served as a business coach and marketing consultant for female entrepreneurs. Prior to entrepreneurship, Anjali worked at American Express for eight years in various roles, including small business marketing and partnership marketing. Anjali earned her MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and her BBA from the University of Michigan. She lives in Bethesda, Maryland, with her husband and two sons.
