Shaila Rao Mistry

Shaila Rao Mistry is the founder and president of STEM Institute, a C-level consulting firm specializing in the fields of science, technology, academia and management. STEM Institute works closely with company leaders to influence change and create new business, market and growth opportunities through thoughtful evaluation, innovative strategic planning, leadership management, advocacy, policy, and organization building.

She is the founder and president of Jayco MMI Inc., a successful, 25-year old technology company located in Southern California that innovates, designs and manufactures hand-held user interfaces for aerospace, medical devices, security, and communications applications. Jayco’s clients include global Fortune 500 as well as highly specialized niche technology companies. Jayco MMI is national and international.

Shaila is an active advocate on global issues that affect the quality of human life and is passionate about impacting change. She has served on numerous United Nations projects and committees for the past 15 years, chairing controversial caucuses and bringing consensus amongst delegates from many nation states. She has also authored language for various final outcome policy documents of record.

Shaila is an active member of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and she is a Fellow at the Women’s Policy Institute of California. She has received numerous honors and awards, including OC Metro’s Top 20 Women to Watch, SABAN Entrepreneur of the Year, NAWBO Lifetime Achievement Award, Asian Business Association of Orange County Marco Polo Award for Entrepreneurship and Global Humanitarian Work, and several congressional awards.
