Theresa McLaughlin

Theresa was recently the EVP and Global Chief Marketing, Citizenship and Customer Experience Officer for TD Bank Group with 85,000 employees worldwide, ranking among the world’s leading financial services firms.

Theresa led marketing, digital transformation, customer experience, and citizenship globally. She was responsible for a budget of more than $500 million and a team of 800 marketing, community and data science professionals, as well as the division’s Diversity Leadership Council. Key achievements in her role include shifting the sales mix to over 50% digital and elevating the company to a top most valuable brand in Canada and one of the 100 most valuable global brands.

Before joining TD, she held a number of leadership roles in the financial services industry, including enterprise strategy, distribution, product development and management, innovation, and digital transformation. Most recently, she served Citizens Financial Group as Group EVP, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, and Head of Corporate and Government Affairs. She served on the Executive Committee, reported to the CEO and held P&L responsibility for the company’s retail deposits and consumer loans over her tenure.

She served on the Pathways to Education Canada Board and the boards of the Boston Ad Club, Boston Food Bank and Horizons for Homeless Children. She has received a Bronze Cannes Lion award, two Effie awards, an Emmy Award, a Gold Midas Award and was named one of the 25 “Women to Watch” by American Banker.
