Melanie has more than 30 years of successful small business, corporate, and federal government experience. She founded and served as chief executive officer of Exclusive Interim Properties (EIP) from 1986 to 1997, when the company merged with four other companies to form BridgeStreet Accommodations WorldwideThe company did an IPO and went public on the NASDAQ and is one of the largest interim housing companies in the world. For 15 years prior to starting her own business, Ms. Sabelhaus served in a variety of management positions with the IBM Corporation. She is the former Vice Chair of the National Board of the American Red Cross and is the Honorary Chair of the Red Cross Philanthropic Board. Ms. Sabelhaus twice co-chaired the National United Way’s Summit on Women in Philanthropy and Co-Founded the National Women’s Leadership Council, a billion-dollar women’s leadership society. She is the Co-Founding national chair of the Tiffany Circle, a Society of women leaders in the USA and Internationally, for the American Red Cross. She is a member of the Belizean Grove an international women’s leadership organization and twice chaired the Nantucket Boston Pops, with 8k in attendance, benefiting the Nantucket Hospital.Sabelhaus serves on the corporate Duke Realty Board, a publicly held REIT. Working with Senator Elizabeth Dole she founded the Women’s Majority Network for the National Republican Senatorial Committee. She led the First U.S. Delegation of women for the White House to the OECD Conference in Istanbul, Turkey.
