Senior Vice President, East Region Sales Manager, Wells Fargo BusinessJoseph Vanella is an accomplished financial services executive with more than 30 years of experience leading growth, sales, and lending organizations across the banking and commercial finance industries. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for developing high-performing teams, expanding market presence, and delivering exceptional revenue growth for some of the nation’s leading financial institutions.
Currently, Joseph serves as Executive Director and East Region Manager for Wells Fargo Business where he leads a team of Business Lending Associates spanning from Maine to Florida. Under his leadership for the last fifteen years, the region experienced nearly 300% growth in loan volume and expanded its market coverage by 50%, as well as helping Wells Fargo achieve the number-one SBA lender position in several key states.
Prior to Wells Fargo, Joseph held leadership positions with TD Bank, GE Capital, and HSBC Bank. During his tenure at GE Capital, he transformed the East Region’s annual loan production from $19 million to more than $350 million while maintaining double-digit growth for 12 consecutive years. He was also honored with GE Real Estate’s prestigious Pinnacle Award in 2006 and 2007.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Joseph is deeply committed to community service. He serves on multiple nonprofit and economic development boards, including Pursuit Financial, New England Certified Development Corporation, and the LS26 Foundation. He holds an MBA in Finance and Banking from Hofstra University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University at Albany.
